Saturday: Our first full day

Breakfast at Mecure for Preferred Club members.

Avocado and smoked salmon on toast, assorted sweet breads, mushroom and spinach omelet with hash brown potato and bacon. Cappachinnio and water,

Fresh fruit plate with bacon & ham omelette with extra cheese. Tomato juice and water.

We shared an apple stuffed tortilla w strawberry compote and maple syrup drizzle.

Popped in preferred club lounge for daily activity print out and to see what continental breakfast looked like. Looked good: French toast and scrambled eggs were waiting for those interested.

Checked in with UVC services and had a brief update meeting. This was informative but also indeed a sales pitch, which we knew going in. We went in ready to say no to any offers because we aren’t ready to upgrade right now. However, they did make an offer we were surprised by and had us considering an upgrade. We opted to decline for now but are still interested in upgrading in the future.

Side note: They gave me a real nice beach bag as a gift and we got $150 leisure cash to spend while we are here.

Next we headed to the gift shops to see what they had to offer. We grabbed a couple of post cards (a standard grab on our big trips), a stuffed monkey whose nickname is “Pricey” if that tells you anything and hubby some swim shoes.

From there it was back to the room to get ready for the pool! Once all set we headed off to the preferred pool The pool was kept at a warm 84 degrees and had multiple entry points with steps, built in head rests, hammocks and the far end was infinity pool style facing the ocean. The waves are a bit strong today so it was nice to still have the salt water feel while in the relaxing pool.

Also pool side we ennjpyed drinks and snacks. There was a buffet style options of chicken nuggets, fries, onion rings, poppers, chips and nacho cheese. The young lady at the grill was making fish tacos and of course there were all the fixins to go with them. Drinks were great. Mudslides drink of the day and baileys on it he rocks.

After relaxing in the room for a bit we had room service, cold meat pizza, Mexican plate, tuna avocado, and tortilla soup. Finished it up with lemon pie and cheesecake,

Off to the regular family pool now to see how that compares. Regular pool had a lot more sectioned areas to allow for more space. There was an area separated by the others to play water volleyball. Floats were out for people to use and chairs / towels were plenty, That being said – towels were on the far side of the pool and not easily accessible. There was also a long infinity pool wall as well.

Another brief break in our room before heading to dinner. Mecure wasn’t; open tonight and no dinner at the buffet so we went to Capers for a fantastic Italian dinner. There was quite a wait for inside seating so we opted to sit outside Their business effected the speed of service. My water stayed empty for far too long. Food was slow coming out but it was delicious. To start I had a caprese salad. Then I had the angus beef filet and shrimp risotto. I skipped soup and dessert. Hubby enjoyed the zucchini carpaccio followed by creamy tomato soup, angus beef fillet and stuffed cannelloni. He also skipped dessert.

After dinner we popped into Coco Cafe so I could have a cappuccino and also to kill time waiting for tonight’s Mexican Show. The show was great. Talk about talented dancers. Hubby and I really enjoyed ourselves. There were some parts I did have to turn around and look away for. Not because of the quality of the show but the strobe lights being used.

Exhausted and fulfilled from a great vacation day we headed to the room for the night. We had scheduled plate pickup for while we were gone and came back to plates gone and the room cleaned up! What a pleasant surprise. There were even mints on hubby’s pillow. 🙂

With us being from Michigan (and apparently I keep the house unusually cold) the room was feeling quite warm to us. I called the concierge and they promptly brought up a fan for our room. This improved the night greatly! I was out within minutes which is a huge improvement!
