We’re Off!

At last and promptly at 4am the counters are staffed. We are quickly checked in and bagged checked. Off to TSA. Due to how early it was, TSA was easy. We were stopped for additional inspections but no biggie. They were quite pleasant and we forgot to tell them about hubbys ice hats we bring for his headaches. You can imagine what those may look like under X-ray! No issues with having my dexcom transmitter manually inspected (can’t be xrayed).

We found our gate easily. Once settled in I grabbed us a breakfast bagel from the coffee shop. They were hot and fresh but a little on the dry side. A little butter or sauce would go a long way.

Back at the gate things were uneventful. I did a last second (5 min before) boarding trip to the gift shop for nail clippers. It was 1 gate away from ours.

Since we had aisle seats we waited until the end to board so we weren’t in the neighboring passengers way getting to the their seats. This made boarding a breeze. Almost everyone was seated and out of the way. Will use this strategy again for sure!!

Off to Newark. It was a short flight. Drinks and snacks were served efficiently. A new flight attendant was on crew. They had him doing the announcements and safety brief. He probably should have read them and practiced beforehand lol. That’s ok though, we are all new once!
